Born in New York 93 years ago,Bass was director, graphic designer, photographer, illustrator and advertising,as well as the most sought-creator of logos for the largest U.S. companies.
The history of cinema has,as the opening credits, his most accomplished graphic projects: Bonjour Tristesse (1958),Vertigo (1958),The Shining (1980),Schindler's List (1993) and Love in the Afternoon (1957) with Audrey Hepburn and Gary Cooper.
The doodle, created for the occasion, mentions many of his ideas in an effective way visivuale that sums up the genius of the artist.
The peculiar characteristic of his style, which was also his innovation was the 'extreme simplicity of the forms which together with the significant and never banal fitting choice, enabled him to transform the introductory sequences of films in true works of art.If the titles of the films are no longer an ordered series of white words fade in the cinema as we know it today has to thank Saul Bass.
He scored the visual memory of the films in which he took part, making it unforgettable also his collaborations with some of the greatest directors of the century, including Alfred Hitchcock,Otto Preminger,Billy Wilder,Stanley Kubrick and Martin Scorsese.
Sometimes when I try to remember to go back to the first frame of my existence, but I've never managed to find a starting point.Because of that I can remember, photography has always been a part of me.

Are Graphic Designers Thinking About This?
(a designer friend of mine recently joked that we are all debating about Quark versus InDesign, while employers are debating about India versus China)
I've been thinking about this for some time and I can't be alone. A lot of designers get caught up in the work and don't stop to think about the big picture of the field.
Some would argue that graphics professionals are the next IT professionals, that is: highly intelligent, motivated, and talented people in India and China will do the work we do for 1/10 the cost of American designers. In fact this is already starting to happen
Graphic Designers
Hi all,
I'm looking for a graphic designer to help out with a project for American Red Cross Bay Area chapter. This would be a volunteer project but it would be excellent portfolio material. Of course, it's also a great way to help an organization that is dedicated to serving Bay Area communities.
If you're interested please contact me for more info.
Thanks!
Graphic Designer Qualification
OK, I am non-American, doesnt have formal education in Graphic Design, but do have some internship, freelancing experience in GD. Would like to pursue my career in Graphic Design. All associate degree courses are not affordable. I live in Dallas suburbs and couldnt find any long term certification program/course in Graphic Design. How to qualify myself for Graphic Designer? Any thoughts? Ideas? Suggestions?
Thanks!
