I find it really frustrating that employers cannot even make the distinction between a graphic designer and one who programs and or designs information for the web. They are two extremely distinctive disciplines.
Graphic design jobs including animation would be more suitably posted in the art/media/design section.

I want to know what to expect at a typical graphic design business for entry level positions.
You will be asked to arrange media pieces (artwork and advertising copy) on a typical ad (newspaper) limited by different AD sizes, ie - 5x5 - 5x10 - 10x10 - 12x15 etc.

So you got the graphic design degree under your belt and managed to score employment at a design firm (or another), considering this will likely be an entry level job, what exactly is the work? What do you do? Can anyone who has been through this experience elaborate?
That depends on the business you work for. With the current job market it s not so easy to find a good job in the design field. Many of the jobs involve rudimentary skills and no design, or lots of work (having projects dumped on you) for no money.
