Radio College of Canada (RCC) was founded in 1928 by JC Wilson, who had already accumulated considerable experience radio in England and the United States.
In 1930, as reported by the Toronto Globe, Rogers-Majestic Corporation and Radio College of Canada has prepared a plan for the military radio recording. The examination and qualification of those who wanted to become professional recorders, became role of the JRC.
In 1937, the college was acquired by Christopher Dobson. New programs were added to more advanced training, including courses in operation with commercial radio. During this period, demand for radio operators increased with the growth of air transport, as a result, many students were trained by the Federal Department of Transport.
In 1940, Canada's contribution to World War II, took an immediate large-scale planning to ensure well-trained technicians and operators. The students, from all parts of Canada, were selected by aptitude tests developed by the Institute, which offered courses in addition to: a room, daily meals and nursing care.
After the war, many graduates have since sought RCC Institute, the recognition of their degree, thereby placing them at the right to retire federal granted to members of the Merchant Navy who participated in the Second World War.
In 1950, when he was born by the national television, the institute developed a new concept of education in the field of electronics, electronics engineering technology, and a high-level program designed to train "technical" it would have been equipped to assist engineers in the field of applied technology.
In 1957, the Association of Professional Engineers of Ontario (APEO), has appointed a Certification Committee, which included Robert Poulter, P. Eng, then President of the institute. The RCC and the Ryerson Polytechnic Institute (now Ryerson University), were the first schools to achieve accreditation by the order of engineers.
During the late '60s and early '70s, with the advent of new technologies in the field of electronics, RCC has developed a curriculum for the new digital service, computer and microprocessor-based communications for data, fax, , cell phone, and computer science.
In the early 90s, Hartley Nichol, president since 1985, has assumed full responsibility for college and moved to the premises of the RCC in its current form, a campus in a northern suburb of Toronto, in the city of Vaughan. In its 70th anniversary in 1998, the College changed its name to Radio Canada RCC Institute of Technology. On 24 June 2004, the Government of Canada has made it possible to grant degrees legally recognized.

Thinking of schooling in Europe
I recently began my career as a designer in graphic, web and interactive media. I'm mostly self taught, although I did a two year college program in digital media a few years ago. I'm in my early 30s and I was considering to get a degree in Industrial Design.
There are excellent programs here in Canada. Although given my current situation I feel getting away is a necessity. I have family in the UK and I was considering to go to school in England.
I can't seem to find concrete answers to my questions - wondering if anyone would be able to help?
How different is earning a degree in the UK from Canada? I know the education system is different

Loan Star College not bad. However, if you d expand your coverage just a little less, I think you d open up to certain better opportunities. For one, the Santa Fe University of Art and Design just across the state would offer an industry-recognized option for their BFA graphic design program.
